Biography

Nic Poirier, DC, Ed.D., received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Canada, followed by a Diplomate in Radiology from the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology. After spending the early part of his career in a triple role of classroom faculty, residency director, and clinical radiologist at Parker College of Chiropractic (Now Parker University) and later at Northeast College of Health Sciences (formerly New York Chiropractic College), his interest for academic administration eventually led him to pursue his Doctor of Education degree in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher College (now University) in Rochester, NY. He held multiple administrative appointments at Northeast College, including dean of academic programs and services, dean of the school of health sciences and education, and assistant vice president of academic affairs. During that time, he also completed three terms (9 years) as councilor for the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE), serving for several years on the executive committee and later as chairperson during his final term. He remains involved with CCE through his role on the academy of site team visitors. He joined SCU in 2025 as the Executive Dean of the College of Chiropractic Education. His research interests include strategic management and competitiveness of academic programs. He lives in the Rochester, NY, area with his wife and two children. During his free time, he enjoys running, biking, hiking, fishing, and spending time outdoors.
