Biography

Sara Wiens received her Master in Physician Assistant Studies in 2015 from the University of Texas Medical Branch Physician Assistant Program.  She received her MS in Food Science and Nutrition in 2005 from Colorado State University, and achieved her Registered Dietitian (RD) certification.  She graduated with a BS in Nutrition and Food Science and a minor in Spanish from Saint Louis University in 2003. 

She worked several years in both inpatient and outpatient settings as a RD, which established her knowledge in nutrition in critical care, endocrinology, obesity, and nutrition as it relates to overall health and wellbeing.  After becoming a board certified PA, she worked in an Internal Medicine and Geriatrics outpatient clinic, where she combined her passion for nutrition and medicine. She currently volunteers with the Orange County PA group, serves as a Director-At-Large for the California Academy of PAs (CAPA) as well as participates in the CAPA Student Scholarship Committee as a committee member. She enjoys service work and has started a service committee for her students. She is fluent in Spanish, and her passion is learning about integrative nutrition, mental wellness, and how it affects health.
