Dr. Burggraff resides in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Education and Human Sciences from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2010. She then received her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Colorado – Anschutz Medical Campus in 2013. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education at College of Saint Mary. Her dissertation work is focused on developing emotional intelligence in graduate healthcare students. She is also a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) through the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA).

Prior to joining SCUHS, Dr. Burggraff was an Assistant Professor and Director of the Cadaver Lab. She taught future PA and Occupational Therapist in her role as assistant professor and collaborated with DPT faculty and students prior to and during their onsite visits. Her content areas included clinical human anatomy, clinical neuroanatomy, human movement, and clinical education.

Dr. Burggraff has seven years of clinical experience, mainly in outpatient neurorehabilitation. She treated a wide variety of neurologic diagnoses including CVA, TBI/mild TBI, SCI, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Vestibular dysfunction. She was fortunate to be able to use a wide array of technology-based interventions in her practice in addition to hands-on facilitation. In addition to treating patients, Dr. Burggraff also served as the Student Program Leader for all student clinical education experiences at the hospital and as the Site Clinical Coordinator for Education for the out-patient PT student program.

In her free time, Dr. Burggraff enjoys spending time with her family, including exploring new restaurants and activities in and around Omaha, attending sporting events, and traveling.
