Biography
Astor J. Suriano is a Professor of Biological Sciences at Southern California University of Health Sciences. He has taught various courses in Biochemical Sciences since 2014. He received the Most Collegial award in 2017 and has cross-functionally served as lead instructor in the College of Eastern Medicine, Chiropractic Medicine, and Basic Sciences.
Previously, he worked as a Senior Scientist for Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices for over 12 years and served on the Innovation Patent Committee. He spent a few years in HIV and Cancer research at UCLA School of Medicine in Laboratory Medicine & Pathology. He also worked with the UCLA School of Public Health in epidemiological studies for the monitoring and surveillance of the LA Men's Cohort Study.
Professor Suriano is focused on STEM-related programs and enjoys working with students on various learning strategies. He enjoys working with faculty on curriculum improvement to facilitate student learning objectives in course delivery. He is also interested in organizational change and leadership strategies and organizational effectiveness in meeting program goals and objectives.
