Biography
Dr. Dayton Ford holds an AAS in General Science from Mohawk Valley Community College, a BS in Chemistry with a Biochemistry minor from SUNY College at Oswego, and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from SUNY Upstate Medical University at Syracuse. His areas of expertise include neuroanatomy, human physiology, exercise science, and viral diseases of the brain.
Dr. Ford's current research focuses on the impact of frequent assessment and feedback on student learning outcomes. He is actively engaged in teaching and exploring innovative pedagogical methods, with a personal interest in weightlifting and reading. His favorite course as a student was Biochemistry. Notable publications include his 2019 article in the Journal of College Science Teaching on student retention of human physiology concepts, and a 2020 contribution to Intersection of Assessment and Learning on metacognition.
