Biography

Harrison Ndetan is a professor and the capstone coordinator of the DWHL program at SCUHS. 

With a background in physics, biostatistics, epidemiology, medicine, and public health, he has experience serving as instructor in most of these areas as well as some administrative roles in hospital, research and academia.

Throughout his career, he has had numerous opportunities to serve as a mentor and supervisor for graduate and professional research projects, as well as on scientific review and advisory boards.

His current scholarship includes work on opioids and substance use disorder (OUD/SUD) in rural communities, adverse childhood experiences (ACES) that are potentially related to OUD/SUD as well as applying the Bayesian perspectives in exploring the role of concomitant ingestion of alcohol and acetaminophens in early-stage renal insufficiency.

He is also heavily involved in ministries to the sick (hospital) and the prisons as additional ways to give back to his local community.
