Biography

Holly L. Snyder is a licensed, certified genetic counselor with a passion for improving access to genomic testing for hereditary disease. Holly began her professional career in the Fetal Diagnostic Unit at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu, Hawaii. After two years, she joined Eastern VIrginia Medical School, Maternal Fetal Medicine team in Norfolk, Virginia. There, she held the role of Faculty Instructor and supervised students, residents and fellows during their training. Since 2012, Holly has been with Illumina where she has held several roles in Marketing, Laboratory Operations and Medical Affairs. She is currently an Associate Director in Medical Affairs for the Americas where she is responsible for education, societal engagement and providing internal subject matter expertise on genomics in hereditary disease. Holly is passionate about genomics education and has mentored over 40 students as a rotation supervisor, guest lecturer and thesis advisor in 6 different programs.  In addition to her role at Illumina, Holly is an Adjunct Professor in the Master of Science in Genetic Counseling Program at Southern California University of Health Sciences where she serveas as the course instructor for Human Genetics.
