Luis Duran currently in his last year of Graduate School at California State University, Northridge where he is pursing a Masters in Biology. Luis' Masters Thesis focuses on a potential probiotic in Akkermansia biwaensis and laying the ground work for future eperiments by atempting to engraft the bacteria in the mouse gut and seeing if it can transfer generationally. Since his thesis work is more focused in Microbiology, many of my graduate courses have been Micro-realted. Luis has been teaching the Microbiology lab course at CSUN as well as here at SCU. His main goal as an instructor is to aid students by helping them uncerstand more about the imporatnace of microbes and that students will enjoy Microbiology as much as he did when he first wenter the world of microbes.
