SCU Scholarships
The following scholarships are open to all new undergraduate and graduate students
Description: Alumni Scholarship for all entering undergraduate and graduate students. There is one scholarship for $5,000 to be awarded over the first three terms of continuous enrollment.
Criteria: Applicants must be in good standing with a minimum entering CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Applicants must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in any undergraduate or graduate program at SCU and continuous enrollment. Personal Statement (300 words) In what ways do you envision yourself embodying SCU’s Whole Person Health in your future career as a healthcare practitioner or professional?

Cooke Scholarship was created for African American or Black students that are pursuing an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degree leading to a career in whole person health. This scholarship will be awarded in the Fall term. The chosen recipients will receive a $3,000 award over three terms.
Description: Scholarship for entering African American and Black students pursuing a degree in whole person health for Fall 2024.
Criteria:
- Applicants must maintain good academic standing with a minimum entering Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
- Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
- Enrollment Status: Applicants must be currently enrolled as full-time students in the LACC graduate program at Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) and maintain continuous enrollment throughout the academic year.
Description: Institutional Benefactor Scholarship for all entering undergraduate and graduate students. Scholarships will be awarded for students enrolled in clinical programs up to $10,000 and distributed over the length of the degree program. Scholarships will be awarded for students in non-clinical programs up to $5,000 and distributed over the length of the degree program. Scholarships are limited.
Criteria: Applicants must be in good standing with a minimum entering CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Applicants must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in any undergraduate or graduate program at SCU and maintain continuous enrollment. Applicants must complete the Scholarship Application and submit a Personal Statement (300 words): In what ways do you envision yourself embodying SCU’s Whole Person Health in your future career as a healthcare practitioner or professional?
Description: Fitches Scholarship is available to all entering students who are members of a congregation traditionally associated with the Churches of Latter-Day Saints (LDS). Scholarships will be awarded for students enrolled in clinical programs up to $10,000 and distributed over the length of the degree program. Scholarships will be awarded for students in non-clinical programs up to $5,000 and distributed over the length of the degree program. Scholarships are limited.
Criteria: Fitches Scholarship is available to students who are members of a congregation traditionally associated with the Churches of Latter-Day Saints (LDS). To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Membership Verification: Applicants must provide evidence of membership in a congregation affiliated with the Churches of Latter-Day Saints (LDS).
- Letter of Recommendation: LDS applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a church leader (Ward Leader, Elder, etc.) of the LDS Ward to which they belong.
- Academic Standing: Applicants must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
- Enrollment Status: Applicants must be currently enrolled as full-time students in any undergraduate or graduate program at Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) and maintain continuous enrollment throughout the academic year.
- Essay Requirement: In a personal statement of up to 300 words, please respond to the following prompt: “In what ways do you envision yourself embodying SCU’s Whole Person Health philosophy in your future career as a healthcare practitioner or professional?”
Description: Mindlin Scholarship is for all entering undergraduate and graduate students. Scholarships will be awarded for students enrolled in clinical programs up to $10,000 and distributed over the length of the degree program. Scholarships will be awarded for students in non-clinical programs up to $5,000 and distributed over the length of the degree program. Scholarships are limited.
Criteria: To be considered for the Mindlin Scholarship Fund, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Academic Standing: Applicants must maintain good academic standing with a minimum entering Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Enrollment Status: Applicants must be currently enrolled as full-time students in any undergraduate or graduate program at Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) and maintain continuous enrollment throughout the academic year.
- No essay is required for this scholarship.
- Student Aid Index (SAI): The Student Aid Index (SAI) will be determined to assess financial need.
This scholarship is no longer available.
Description: The Standard Process Scholarship was created by Standard Process to assist 2 Chiropractic Students and 1 Acupuncture student per year with educational expenses, such as tuition and fees. The whole food philosophy of Standard Process was developed in 1929 by the company’s founder, Dr. Royal Lee, who believed “the best sources of vitamins and minerals are found in whole foods.” This scholarship will be awarded in the Fall to 2 Chiropractic students and 1 Acupuncture student. The chosen recipients will receive $2,500
Criteria: Applicants must 1) be pursuing a degree in Chiropractic or Chinese Medicine, 2) have at least one term remaining prior to graduation, 3) be in good standing with a grade point average of 2.9 or higher, and 4) believe that nutritional supplementation is more important than ever.
This scholarship is currently not available.
Legacy Scholarship has been designed to acknowledge and recognize the children and grandchildren of SCU alumni who have also chosen to pursue a career in complementary and alternative health care. Students who are awarded the Legacy Scholarship will receive a 5% discount on tuition for each of their 10 terms at SCU provided they maintain a minimum of a 2.0 cumulative GPA. The applicant for this scholarship must provide appropriate documentation of their relationship with the alumnus.
