Compliance and Consumer Information

The following provides the public, prospective and current students information about SCUHS. This information is provided in compliance with the Higher Education Act of 1965 as amended, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, the Student Right to Know Act, the Jeanne Cleary Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, and the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act.

Texas Authorization Statuses

SCU is not regulated in Texas under Chapter 132 of the Texas Education Code; therefore, a license or exemption from the Texas Workforce Commission is not required.

SCU has qualified for an exemption as defined in Chapter 7.3 of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s rules from certain, but not all, regulations and has been granted a Certificate of Authorization for programs containing a clinical, internship or field-based educator training.

SCU is regionally accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).  Accordingly, under California law, we are exempt from regulation by the California Board of Private Postsecondary Education.  Our WSCUC accreditation authorizes SCU to operate in the state of California.

Student complaints may be filed with the state office in which the student resides.  A listing of state higher education authorities, their address, and contact phone number can be found at Accreditations and Authorizations – Southern California University of Health Sciences – Modern Campus Catalog™
