Dr. Schneider received his PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008 and his DC degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1982. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and has been a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on numerous NIH and PCORI-funded randomized clinical trials. He practiced chiropractic for over 25 years before transitioning into his current career as a fulltime academic researcher. Dr. Schneider is a Full Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was recently appointed as the inaugural Director of the Doctor of Chiropractic program at the University of Pittsburgh. This is the first DC program to be offered by a research-intensive public university in the U.S.

Ranked as the number one female physician in the U.S., embracing Integrative Medicine. Board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, and Integrative Holistic Medicine, Mimi Guarneri, MD, FACC, ABOIM, is a cardiologist focusing on disease prevention and health creation. A leading proponent of Integrative Medicine, she serves on the Founding Board of the American Board of Physician Specialties in Integrative Medicine (ABOIM). She is the Co founder and Medical Director of Guarneri Integrative Health, Inc. at Pacific Pearl La Jolla in La Jolla, California, USA, where she leads a team of experts in conventional, integrative, and natural medicine. Dr. Guarneri is Co-founder and Treasurer of Miraglo Foundation, a non-profit public charity providing Integrative Medicine education and research and serving the underserved in the U.S. and globally. A Clinical Associate Professor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), California North State University, and Southern California University Health Sciences. She is also the President of the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM) and the Past President of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine (ABIHM). She served as Senior Advisor to the Atlantic Health System for the Chambers Center for Well-Being, among other healthcare system advisory positions. She is an accomplished author and the Professor of The Great Courses video series, “The Science of Natural Healing.” Her television special, “Live Better Now with Mimi Guarneri, MD,” was broadcast in 2019 and 2020 at hundreds of public television stations across the U.S. Dr. Guarneri hosted “The Heart Health” series for Food Revolution Network in 2021. Dr. Guarneri was an English Literature undergraduate major at New York University. Her medical degree is from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York, where she graduated number one in her class. Dr. Guarneri served her internship and residency at Cornell Medical Center, becoming chief medical resident. She served cardiology fellowships at New York University Medical Center and Scripps Clinic in California. She is a fellow member of the American College of Cardiology, Alpha Omega Alpha, the American Medical Women’s Association, and a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition. She co-founded the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine and served as medical director for 15 years. She began her career at Scripps Clinic as an attending in interventional cardiology, where she placed thousands of coronary stents. Recognizing the need for a more comprehensive and holistic approach to cardiovascular disease, Dr. Guarneri pioneered the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine where state-of-the-art cardiac imaging technology and lifestyle change programs are used to aggressively diagnose, prevent and treat cardiovascular disease. Her current integrative health and wellness center at Pacific Pearl La Jolla has received recognition as Best of La Jolla for several consecutive years and is widely sought for clinical rotations and as a model for practice transformation. Dr. Guarneri’s book, “108 Pearls to Awaken Your Healing Potential,” was published by Hay House in 2017, and she is the professor of “The Science of Natural Healing,” a top selling 24-lecture video set from The Great Courses. She is the author of “The Heart Speaks,” 2006, Simon & Schuster, and co-author of “Total Engagement: The Healthcare Practitioner’s Guide to Heal Yourself, Your Patients & Your Practice,” 2014. Dr. Guarneri is an internationally sought-after speaker and educator. She was an invited presenter in November of 2017 for two international conferences on integrative health and medicine in Brazil and at the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences’ conference on global health. An annual featured speaker at the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine conference in San Diego, California, she continues to advise, lead, and present at national integrative healthcare conferences. She also offers professional development programs to healthcare providers for Integrative Medicine. Dr. Guarneri was recognized for leadership in Integrative Medicine by the Bravewell Collaborative and served as the Founding Chair of the Bravewell Clinical Network for Integrative Medicine. She has garnered numerous awards, including the ARCS Foundation Scientist of the Year. In 2011, she won the Bravewell Physician Leadership Award, which honors a physician leader who significantly transformed the U.S. healthcare system. She received the 2012 Linus Pauling Functional Medicine Lifetime Achievement Award from the Institute for Functional Medicine and the Grace A. Goldsmith Award from the American College of Nutrition. She also received a Visionary Award from Integrative Healthcare Symposium in 2020 and Bridges Award from Vivos Therapeutics in 2021. Dr. Guarneri was honored with the San Diego Magazine’s Woman of the Year Award as Health and Wellness Pioneer 2016 for outstanding leadership. Scott Haldeman DC, MD, PhD, FRCP(C), FCCS(C), FAAN holds the of clinical professor in the Department of Neurology, University of California, Irvine, and Adjunct Professor, Southern California University of Health Sciences. He is Past President of the North American Spine Society, the American Back Society, the North American Academy of Manipulative Therapy. He was appointed International Ambassador for the Decade of the Bone and Joint. He is the founder and currently serves as President of World Spine Care, a non-profit organization and founding member of the WHO World Rehabilitation Alliance. This Foundation has the goal of helping people in underserved regions of the world who suffer from spinal disorders. He currently chairs the Global Spine Care Initiative to develop evidence-informed, practical, and sustainable, spine health care models for communities around the world. He has been on the editorial boards of eight professional and scientific journals. He has published over 255 articles or book chapters and has authored or edited 8 textbooks. He is certified by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry, is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology. He presided over The Bone and Joint Decade 2000 to 2010 Task Force on Neck Pain and Its Associated Disorders. He is Chairman Emeritus of the Research Council of the World Federation of Chiropractic. He was awarded the David Selby Award by the North American Spine Society, the Patenge Distinguished Lecturer Award from Michigan State University and an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree from the Southern California University of Health Sciences. In 2015 he received the Bone and Joint Decade Global Alliance Distinguished Service Award and in 2020 he received the Sheikh Zayed International Award for TCAM.

David Kilgore, M.D., FAAFP is a retired UCI Clinical Professor of Family Medicine, and served as prior Department of Family Medicine Vice-chair of Academic Affairs and Family Medicine Residency Faculty. Dr. Kilgore graduated from University of Southern California School of Medicine, completed residency in Family Medicine at Glendale Adventist Medical Center, a Faculty Development Fellowship at University of Washington and a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. Prior to his retirement in 2024, Dr. Kilgore served in a number of capacities at UCI, including: Director of the Integrative Medicine Program at the UCI Family Health Center which includes both an educational track in Integrative Medicine for Family Medicine Residents and a Healing Environment program within the clinic. He was the inaugural Director of Education at the Samueli Institute, the course director of an elective medical school course in Culinary Medicine, co-director of the Family Health Center teaching kitchen, and the inaugural Director of a 4 year Integrative Medicine track in the UCI School of Medicine called HEAL-IM (Health Education to Advance Leaders in Integrative Medicine). He served as the physician director of community health initiative grant program called Live Healthy OC, focused on helping to support the transformation of the healthcare delivery model of Orange County Community Health Clinics and recently completed a role as co-investigator for an NIH grant studying group visit support of effective healthy lifestyle to improve blood pressure control for patients in underserved communities in Orange County. His positions allow him to focus on his passion for increasing access to Integrative Health resources for the underserved communities in Orange County, and in teaching medical students and residents about the importance of incorporating concepts of prevention, health and wellness in the basic healthcare we offer all patients.

Dr. Laura Magaña is President and CEO of the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH). She is also the founding President of the Global Network for Academic Public Health (GNAPH), an alliance of seven regional associations representing schools and programs of public health worldwide. Under her leadership, ASPPH has continued to advance academic public health by mobilizing the collective power of its members to drive excellence and innovation in education, research, and practice. During her tenure, ASPPH has strengthened academic public health research through the Data Center, launched the academic public health leadership institute, and enhanced the voice of academic public health through advocacy. Dr. Magaña expanded the association’s global reach and is leading five strategic initiatives to address critical issues in public health as part of ASPPH’s Vision 2030: Dismantling Racism in Academic Public Health, Climate Change and Health, Framing the Future 2030, Gun Violence Prevention and the ASPPH Workforce Development Center. Prior to joining ASPPH, Dr. Magaña dedicated more than 35 years to successfully leading the transformation and advancements of public and private universities in Mexico; educational organizations in the United States; United Nations programs; and nongovernmental organizations in Central America and Europe. She was most recently the dean of the School of Public Health at the National Institute of Public Health in Mexico. Dr. Magaña’s diverse portfolio features 90 academic publications —many of which relate to learning environments, the use of technology in education, and public health education.
